Life in Basel, Switzerland

Skiing the Swiss Alps!!!

Of course we had to get at least one ski trip in for the winter. Unfortunately, it’s quite expensive for a ski trip in Switzerland once you account for the train fare and the ski pass. But once you’re there you realize it is worth every single cent. Absolutely breathtaking scenery and really fun runs. There’s not really a way to put it into words so I’ll just leave it up to the photos.

What next?

Those are the highlights of the short 90 days I got to spend in Switzerland with Alex. Through the challenges, adventure and amazing memories it is easy to say that I had made the right choice quitting my job and moving there. But what next? Well… I didn’t obtain a visa (very hard to do in Switzerland) so I was required to leave the country for 90 days. The good news was that Alex had applied for a new position within his company in Munich and he got the job! This was great news for me because Germany offers a self-employment visa and I have a better chance of getting that than getting any sort of visa in Switzerland. So, after a tearful goodbye at the airport I headed back to the States. Over the next few weeks I had a massive garage sale, packed whatever I could into my two door Honda Civic, grabbed my best friend Acacia and headed East on an amazing road trip (post on that coming soon) so that I could spend the next 2.5 months with my family before I packed up to return to Europe once again.
